This is something I did in school last school year in my Commercial Art class I take. I made this for my senior project, which was a 3D modeling portfolio , and it demonstrated everything that I have explained in one full model. I know there are flaws in the model, like he's a bit too fat.. but I wasnt going for the new sonic, more of the old Sonic look. Still, for my first major model, I think it came out very well.

Model was done in Maya 6 PLE, texture wraps were made in Photoshop 7.

One of those flaws I was talking about... The mouth I couldnt wrap around the muzzle, it confused me to no end, and always got all stretched out and stuff. The muzzle is such an odd shape, I couldnt get it to work correctly.

Just imagine a thin black line ^_~

LMAO the front looks like he's abotu to get hit by a car!!! I'd just say work on his eyes, and keep trying to get the mouth. A lot of how we all remember sonic is based on his voice and on his facial expressions, that's one of the most important parts about him, so next time really try to capture that essence.

Ah. Very nice. I suggest you use a new 3d modeler. The personal learning edition is cutting you back. Try using Blender. It's truley amazing, and its free. www.blender3d.org

Good work. The quality is quite low tho. Need to add a mouth, i bet you could do that in PS if you really wanted

Gee thanks Xtreme.. Its only my first real model and all ⌐_⌐

Thanks BFG, the PLE was used only in my class, I dont use it anymore. I have downloaded Blender, but I have to really sit down and look at it, it doesnt seem very user friendly just from looking at the startiing screen. I plan to read up on ome tutorials I found on Pixel2Life, so maybe you'll see some more stuff from that in the future.
