This is an idea I had and just decided to slap something together. I really didnt put too much thought into the overall design, just kind of... made it :P

I think it looks like something you'd see out of F-Zero or Wipeout, and just remember.. Im really just asking you all to comment on thr model aspect. I just threw on the shaders to give a basic idea of what the coloring is gonna look like, I do plan on creating some UV wraps for it in Photoshop, which I'll post up when the final piece is finished.

    Modeled with Maya 6.

maybe add some vents on the side wing things, and some headlights on the front nose part. looks like a good start, but not enough detail on it yet. looks like something for the N64, yet even those had more polys.

    Zzzzzzzzoooooooooooooommm

It looks pretty nice, but its a bit too, um, shapey (too many sharp edges)

on its top view it looks like an arrow (soon to be pointing to a finishline )

I wish I had unlimited. But sadly I don't have the money to even get 6. Onto the critique. You should add some metal textures to it, give it some reflctivity. Add more curves, don't just use the opitomy of basic shapes. Good design, but this is what you should build apon to get you finished model. Don't just stop here. Subdivide everything and add some detail.

Pretty cool so far. But like others have said needs more deatails. Try gathering some ideas from other pictures. Theres many great 3d artists out there to get some ideas from.

Needs to be smoother. Try using nurbs and such. They help make it smoother.

Thank yas for the comments. Of course, more details are to be added, and you guys have given me some nice new ideas to work with.

I also noticed that you were commenting on the jaggyness and that it is not smooth. Well I did this on purpose really, I could try smoothing it out with the smooth polys and see how that works, but I myself like the blocky look.

Im not exactly sure on what I should do on the material/texture side of it. Crazy suggested some metal like texture, so I will try and work with that a bit more, that could probably be the hardest thing for me, I suck at making materials

As always, your comments are appreciated!

i think its way to simple yet, is it just a base to work on? Maybe a metal material with an rusty alpha material over the top would look cool, maybe add some decals too.

Add some decals on with the uv map. It's hard to get used to at first, but the results are what count, right? I wish I could have your software. i am stuck at the moment with ple. I am saving up though for 6.5 unlimited. I just love the dynamics and the physics built in.

Yes, Undertone already gave me the N64 ref, how about any ways I could improve the look rather then just telling me something already spoken about?

By the way, its coming along farily well, and I guess many people didnt take to my idea, Im trying not to model this after something more modern or streamlined like vechicles today (i.e. smooth bodys). I wanted to make it rough and jagged (or shapey ), like it could take a beating out on off road like areas, also, along with my original idea.. Im trying to impliment some kind of weapons system into it as well, any ideas on this would be appreciated. Thanks for the comments

As for 7, I should really consider looking into it. Of course, Im probably not gonna buy in for a while, probably until I see some kind of price drop. I think for the moment all I need is 6.

One more little side note Crazy, this isnt Unlim I'm using, its the Complete version.

Its more annoying then anything, dealing with the odd slant of the side panels and such, positioning things and making it look good is getting to be quite a task.

Now, I would appreciate any other comments to NOT be based on what console it would go onto. Im not creating some model with a poly count in the high 100 thousands to be put on the PS3. This is an amatuer model being dont for the fun of it and would appreciate the proper comments Im asking for, y'know.. to help me out.
