Anti Aliasing

Lets say I have a stroke made arond a render by the Layer options. What is the best way to make that stroke appear less pixelated?

make sure the render isnt very pixelated at the edges, or you could lower the opacity of the stroke.

Hmm. Thought about that, would blurring be a good solution? Or maybe smudging the pixels closer together?
