I don&#39;t really understand why Americans think this way as the US has only been around for recent conflicts, all of which they waiting untill the last minute before jumping in.

The French aren&#39;t weak, they&#39;re just stuck next to one of the largest military powers in the world historically. It is fun to tease though :P
