iPods are crap...
Try finding a Windows XP emulator though, that might work. Otherwise... just use Windows XP?

hahahaha
first off
why the hell did you buy a shuffle there isnt even a screen. sounds like someone is a trend whore, if your going get a ipod get a nano or the 20 g or somthing.
second
why the hell did you not reasearch the problem first.
i mean you prob need usb 2.0 and win xp. so look it up befor you buy the goddamn thing.
you could have bought a mp3 player with more memory more options and a fucking screen that works on 98.. but instead you have to fall into apples little game.

i bought ipod cos there is no more better mp3 player than ipod on all world.....thats totally obvious...in everyway both in sound quality, design, look, price and memorry and also extra options.....ipod is the worlds greatest mp3 player you sqarehead.....
i think you dont know what shuffle means cos u still look for a screen on that thing....this is calleld design....u dont need a screen on shuffle....and why the heel you should need a screen? dont you know what songs you instaleld on it ? if you need bater info u can chec it only pressind on a button on shuffle btw if thats problem for you......
also its 512 mb flash memmory.....you can add any file on it and transfer to another pc....and etc etc etc thats why are ther ipods are best of world and this proves you dont know anything about technology you just pretend like you know too much to look good in ppls eyes squarehead, madd lol oh btw i dont need 4gb memorry lol thats to much and needless.....so you should think twice before talking and swearing as..ole.....

You've gotta be kidding me... iPods are HORRIBLE. Your battery won't last more than 2 years (just after the warranty expires) and there's no way to replace it. There are a few other MP3 players that support memory sticks as well, though I don't know why you'd need one because you can transfer music to and from MP3 players to almost any computer that has a USB/Firewire port (unless you have any iPod, Apple doesn't let you take music off your iPod and put it on another computer). For the memory stick, you have to buy an extra external drive for it and carry that around in your pocket with you.
The iPod has no more or less sound quality than other MP3 players. The quality is almost entire based on the music track itself and your headphones. MP3s by the way have a horrible quality to begin with.
As far as the shuffle goes - it's not completely useless. I leave the shuffle option turned on most of the time in Winamp, but I have hundreds of songs and don't always know what I'm listening to so it's nice to be able to switch between them at will.
This is turning into another iPod debate though.... dude, just google a Windows XP emulator.

LOL dude....oldest v3 ipod is 2 years old lol how can you know their batterys only lasts 2 years hahahah.......also u didnt read carefully what i said.....when you are putting your songs....u know what you put in it.....your brain will remember the order of songs when you just hear the firs voice of the song...and you can go forward or backward....also there are veeeery less mp3 players that supports big screen and full control of song list....all others have screens but you can go only forward and backward.....you cant select a song directly you have to press buttons till you see you song on list....i dont need screen to do this simple work....i have my ears to it......
btw it ect sound quality.....i had a creative muvo slip with original creative earcaps for 8 between 9 months....3 weeks ago i saw and ipod shuffle on my friends.....at first i said him creatives soudn quality would be way more better than ipods but than we installed same song....as mp3 to both crative and ipod......it was amazing....soudn quality...clearness....loudness...sofness...bass i mean everything was 100x better than my muvo slim.....thats why i decided to buy ipod....u should try ipod 1 day....ur talking nonsense belive me you will aggre that if you listen only 1 song with ipod....also ipod supports aac fomat sound thats better quality than mp3 and takes lower memorry than mp3.....just try it mates.....belive me you will agree with mee.....
