how do I make a transparent background for a picture?
I tried saving as a .PNG but it just turns out white :blink:

Ok, this sounds weird.
You have a picture with some transparent background, you know, with the grey white chesstexture. then save as a .png and you are done. I think, it works for me.

its not the browser...
when I open up the .PNG file (even in photoshop), it has a white background.

i say just save it as a gif if the png isnt working like you want it to.

heres what i do...
1. open your file with a white bg in photoshop.
2. duplicate the layer.
3. with the magic wand, seelect the white bg and delete it.
4. select the bg layer and press ctrl+a. delete.
5. change the eraser to background eraser and rubb out your white bg
6. save as a .gif

yeah, but the problem is, my photoshop wont let me save as .GIF for some reason...

Same thing happends to me but mine is a gray color

There could be a problem with the version your using.
Try addiing .gif to your filename when u save it. should work then.
