uhh... whats this:

im kinda worried.. never seen it before..
-
Seen as though it aint taking up much CPU its probably adware or something, search it on google. I have tons like that, just end the proccess and see if it comes back, if it does (probably will do next time you log on) then find out what it is.
FOUND THIS...
And this-
"In addition to the 16-bit applications, each NTVDM process includes a heartbeat thread that interrupts every 55 milliseconds to simulate a timer interrupt, and the Wowexec.exe thread, which helps to create 16-bit tasks and to handle the delivery of the 16-bit interrupt. This thread supports 16-bit Windows applications in a 32-bit Windows environment. The WOW subsystem provides an NTVDM where all Win16 applications run. You will see the heartbeat and Wowexec threads when monitoring 16-bit applications."
-
So is it good or bad, should i stop it???
-
It ain't good and it ain't bad really, sounds like it helps 16-bit programs runs so probably good.
If it tries accessing the net or anything suspicous then end it.
-
ok.. i wont know if its accessing the net though...
ill just stop it - its never been there before, so stopping it cant harm it
-
Another thing i found said it doesn't matter if you delete it or what you fo with it.
Your anti virus normally says if something is trying to access the net
-
by anti virus is like... broken... thats why i was worried..
stupid mcaffe.. subscription run out and i need my dads user n pass to resubscribe... and hes not home till tomorrow (bin like that for like 5days :P)
-
Aslong as you have windows service pack two you can get decent anti-viruses with like a year free subscription
I decided to get the 90day free nortan anti virus :P
-
how might one do this? (i have sp2.. but i have had no offers)
-
Aslong as you have SP2 there should be windows security something or the other, im not sure where it stores itself but when you first log on it should be in the botom right corner tray thing, double click it. If you dont have an anti virus installed a box should pop up, click on that. There is then a hyperlink to a site that lists them all, give me one min illl try and get it for you.
