    Well, who uses em?

I've been doing some research, and it seems like the macs in my price range (roughly 500 or so) have about 1.2ghz processing with about 512 or 256 ram. My windows pc has 1.97ghz with 512 ram (448 cuz my video card shares 64) Do you guys think it's worth it to buy MYSELF (as in NO FAMILY USAGE) a mac computer? I want something i can use as a workhorse, without having to worry about all these god damn viruses and stuff.

So, wadda you guys think? I wanna know why you use a mac or pc, and more importantly, why you DON'T use the other. (because macs/pcs suck is not a good answer)

I suggest using windows based pc's.

Compatability, Affordable, Reliable, More for your money, Run better, and advanced technology. ( dual core processors, 64 bit, better graphics)

Windows reighns supreme, and is used by the majority of people/bisnuesses.

Bfg, mac has had dual core processors for a couple years. Macs are more reliable, as the OS is coded BY THE COMPANY WHO MAKES THE COMPUTER. Also, windows isn't an OS, technically. It's just a graphic overlay of a command line. Basically, dos with makeup.

BFG, I knew you were gonna say that.

X makes a good point though, it is like DOS with makeup. But in all reality Mac and Windows are both just Unix with makeup.

    I prefer PC.

That's also true. There's a national-level highschool student in my video class, he's a senior. He has a mac g5, and is getting a 23 inch display soon. He runs his OWN wedding business, and is always doing side projects. I'm not saying i wanna get into that stuff, but he says he loves macs but he does have a pc just to use every once in a while.

I'd really like to get away from pcs though, i just hate using windows.

Anywho, mac is way over rated. It is just as buggy as any windows pc.

I like windows, and mac. But linux rocks!! =D
