This is my first Space Art, hope you guys like it. Landscape in WM, Atmosphere and water in Terragen with WW plugin set at Height Ripples. Planet and stars in Photoshop.

I just noticed some of the star brushing went over onto the landscape, but not much. I might fix it later.
C+C would be nice, thanks.

It's working for me, but I'll rehost it as well.

Ok, first of all it's very small. A larger one would make it alot better I think. Anyways, the first thing I thought of when I looked at it was that the planet is very contrasting. The shaded side of the planet is the darkest part of the image, which it shouldn't be. Since the space seems pretty bright, probably because of the atmosphere, the planet should blend in pretty well. Now it stands out very much. There is also a small dark line around the planet that makes it look a bit copy/paste. :/
The starfield should never be brushed! You should simply make your own, which is simple and can look much better after a bit of practice. I suggest you try Greg Martin's tutorial, which teaches the technique which I use.
I think it's very good that you didn't forget the atmosphere. Many beginner space artists forget that a planet actually has an atmosphere and just makes the sky pitch black. It's interesting that you do terraspace, since I don't. I hope you continue so that you can become a pwning space artist. ;P

Thanks Rabie, I really want to learn some good Space techniques and I'm glad you took the time to give me good feedback. I did make it small, because I was experiencing some breakdowns with Terragen when I tried to render over 800x800.
I fixed the problem, so next time I will make it bigger, and thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction and giving me some of your pwn tips.
PS - I used your planet tutorial =P

Thanks Croft. I did notice that, its because of my Terragen settings on that render. I had sometihng on the shore turned up too much. Thanks for the comment.
Yeah, there's water on Mars...didn't you know?

well the moon shadow shouldent be any darker then the rest of the sky & I'd say maybe a bit too many stars but its a good start

I think this is very nice for your first space piece. You've inspired me to try a space piece myself lol.
