Yep, thats right.
A pattern layer, with some brihtness/contrast and blenmode to multiply

there awsome you just need to make the reflection on the bonnet go over the overlay

The change between light and dark is too gradual on the flames, so work on that. (first one i mean)

thats pretty sweet,i realy like it. and i like that there is really no break in the reflection, which is what would give it away most as a fake. maybe lower it a little, may make it look a little sleeker.
