Well, first time posting any work on the void. Followed a few tutorials, tried to incorporate what I wanted into them and created a starfield plus or minus a planet.

C+C would be greatly appreciated and an opinion why you think a certain image looks better than the other -ie- with or without the planet.

I'm aware of the size and kinda regret making the planet smaller to compensate for the size of the starfield - which was smaller.

edit: Just realised I forgot borders for each of them. That will change, right after I've finished eating so...in a tick - any suggestions for which sort of borders? :P

the planet looks good, but i don't like the space around it. It doens't fit with the planet i think. But good job!

The planet is bad, sorry but it is. The starfield looks great... but the planets texture kills.

Ok, the planet isnt bad. It could be better but by no means is it bad. I personaly think it looks better w/ the planet. the space is to empty w/o it.

The space-scape is quite impressive, but you need to work on planets. Look around for a member called rabieshund, he's a great space artist.

Maybe some dusty colouring around the planet. Only very light. THe starfield is good. I'm not tooo keen on the blue. Maybe differnt - only slightly - shades of blue would look good. Crofty wants to do some space art... but crofty is ill :P heh.

    Nice one =)

Thanks for the replies, I'll get to work on some planet work
I've seen rabieshund around - has quite a good reputation ^_^ also heard he would make a tut by request...i wonder if space scenery would be an area he'd be willing to explain in a tut

both images aren't bad the one w/o the planet is nice but it has too much deadspace but then the one with the planet is nice but much work is needed on the postwork after adding the planet in, just sems like you followed martin's tutorial and just pasted the planet in the starfield otherwise its a great start. im not much of a space artist, but trust me post work counts a lot

i posted this here earlier but...the planet was made in 5 minutes using the exact same tutorial you used but after a lot of editing and such, its totally diff than how it originally was

so just keep working on that piece w/ the planet and trust me it'll be sweet once you adjust some stuff
