So, every message board I join that has a media section.. I have to add Powerman 5000 to the list. Many people really haven't heard of the name, but a lot of people know their songs. 'When Worlds Collide', 'Nobody's Real', 'They Know Who You Are', 'Supernova Goes Pop', and 'Bombshell' are some of the ones that the band is well-known for.
PM5K's my all-time favorite band.. and they have been for a while.. and I've compiled information on them over time and this is what I've got.


Who is Powerman 5000?
- Spider One (vocals), Ad7 (drums), Siggy00 (bass), Johnny Rock (guitar), Terry Corso (guitar).

Why the name Powerman 5000?
- Powerman was a comicbook character back in the '70s, Spider added the 5000 to make it look cooler.

How many official albums have they made?
- A private little war, 1994 (cassette only) Not available anymore. Except on various auction sites, on rare occasions.
- True Force, 1994 on Curve of the Earth. Available in stores or at the Curve of the Earth website.
- The Blood Spat Rating System, 1995 on Conscience Records. Until recently, not available, but Megatronic Records did have a really limited number of copies left, but now they're completely unavailable. Again, some people on auction sites might offer them.
- Mega!! Kung Fu Radio, 1997 on Dreamworks Records. Available in stores.
- Tonight the Stars Revolt! 1999 on Dreamworks Records. Available in stores.
- Transform, 2003 on Dreamworks Records. Available in stores.
- Anyone for Doomsday? 2003 on Megatronic Records. Available only at MegatronicRecords.com
- The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, 2004 on Megatronic Records. Available at MegatronicRecords.com and in stores

Wasn't there another one? Anyone for Doomsday? 2001.
- Yes, Anyone for Doomsday? Which was scheduled for release on august 28th, 2001 on Dreamworks Records.
The band decided this wasn't the album they were supposed to release, so they cancelled it two weeks before it was supposed to come out.
This album isn't officially available, but it pops up once in a while on auction sites for outrageous prices... it has become a collectors item.

So.. why did they release it in 2003 anyway?
- I'll quote Spider on that for you:

had no choice but to play the damn thing. Not to mention the endless questions from radio, press and fans I have answered regarding this mysterious lost record.
As I said, this monster refused to die, and it became clear to me that it is finally time to unleash these tracks for our diehard powerfans.
So here it is, the real thing, and you've got it!! Powerman 5000 at our loudest, heaviest and most destructive. Doomsday has arrived...I hope you're happy. -Spider One

How long has Powerman 5000 been around?
- Powerman 5000 was formed in 1990 in Boston.
Original line-up was: Spider One, Al3 (drums), Dorian27 (bass), DJ Brian.
DJ Brian left and was replaced by Adam12 and Jordan (percussion). M.33 joined the band later.
Jordan left the band in 1997.
Both Al3 and Dorian27 left Powerman 5000 shortly after Anyone for Doomsday? was cancelled.
Mike Tempesta (M.33) left the band in 2005
Johnny Rock from Halfcocked joined the band in 2005
Terry Corso from Alien Ant Farm joined the band in 2005

Is Spider married?
- Yes, he's happily married to Dominique, Nika for short. They're also the proud parents of a healthy little baby boy!

What's his name?
- It has not been announced. Spider and Nika deserve their privacy. We will know eventually when they will tell us. Or not.

How did Spider get his nickname?
- Spider wanted to name one of his previous bands Spider Baby, that didn't work out that well.
His brother Rob thanked him on one of his albums as "MC Spider" and that kind of stuck.

Wait.. his brother Rob.. is that Rob Zombie?
- Yeah, that's the one!

How much older is he?
- Rob's not that much older, born on january 12th, 1965. Spider's born on august 25th, 1967.

Did Rob have a lot to do with Powerman 5000?
- No. Rob didn't even know much about Powerman 5000 in the beginning years. It was until much later when Rob and Andy Gould managed the band.

On how many (movie) soundtracks is Powerman 5000 featured?
- Quite a few.
