Can you give us some more information?

What was the name of it?
Where was it located on your system?
What's the threat level? (1-10, 10 being Worst)
Was there more than one instance of it?

    Grr, ur all nubs.

A backdoor trojan just basically opens ports on ur pc therefore making it vunerable to anyone trying to connect to your pc through that port and in essance they can have complete remote control over your pc.

I had some great times with backdoors, flipping my friends screens upside down, making their cd tray go in and out loads times, making the caps lock num lock buttons flash etc, locking thier keyboard and mouse and typing funny things in notepad infront of thier eyes an theres nothnig they can do about it.

Also it means you have access to any file on that computer, and can delete it.../you can execute any line of code.

    Not so great.

What i advise you do, is if ur are a pr0 h4x0r like me, u close the port, if not, get yourself a good firewall (I reckomend Zone Alarm, norton and windows built in firewalls wont do).

    Easy. Fixed.

    Hope i helped.

Yeah, we're "n00bs" when you claim to be an ub3r hacker that actually plays around with kiddie hack shit like Hack'Atack. I'm kidding, don't get mad.

I know what a backdoor is, I was just asking him for more information. Usually when you know more about the file itself, it's easier to give someone helpful information on it.

They usually open up retarded ports that no one ever uses, making it harder to detect by yourself, so make sure you get a good firewall like Sp0rk said, preferrably Zone Alarm.

Ah, you shouldn't become a target for hackers. If you nothing worth of real value on your computer, who cares. Just make sure you keep on anti-virus and spyware.

Zone Alarm rules all. And Sp0rk, i've had a lot of experience in that category too - I hope you're not addressing me as a noob .
