anone everseen the pink panther films?

well hollywood are making a remake of it and that pissed me off because hollywood usually make a cockup of alll of the remakes they do. Plus theyve got crap people in it to Steve Martin as cluseau - that guy has about as good a film track record as a rat has chance of beating the shit out of a lion plus hes not even french

Beyonce knowles is in it - WTF

and a whole bunch of other people

Also there remaking superman not to bothered about that as i never though much about it anyway

Does anyone else think that remakes of films are a good idea?

Yea Peter Sellers was classic, the new one won't be as good though, even if it is with Steve Martin

For the most part remakes are crap, but there are very good ones.

    ie. King Kong
    The Fly
    Ocean's 11
    Red Dragon(?)

There have been numerous 'spin-offs/remakes' to fit western culture of some films that have been made classics:

The Seven Samurai --> Magnificient Seven
Yojimbo --> A Fistful of Dollars

I would like to see a remakes of some 30s films that may feel outdated, I feel that they would do well because the story is so good: All Quiet on the Western Front and The Grapes of Wrath

I like remakes. Some are great. I usally watch all new mvoies that come out to DVD. =)

I've seen alot of movies in my like, and all I can say is remakes are usally either instant classics, or horrible pieces of art.

i see what you mean some remakes have done well and pleased alot of people but to me a remake shows that you dont have much imagination and if you adobt an idea just show your ability to show it a different way

There is not much creativity these days in Hollywood, it sleeps in a comfy bed of reshashed ideas ;D
