Well, i had a lot of friends who played, played it one night, and really liked it. I looked into it like 5 or 6 years ago, really with i would have started, as i'd be very good today. I hate the guys who play and learn daughters by john mayer as their crown achievement, and think the chicks will just flock to them.

If i get chicks then i get chicks, but guitar's always seemed cool (believe it or not i thought about getting a turntable once...imagine what my music choice would be like...&#33 and my dad really loves blues. He seems really proud that i'm starting to listen to blues now and i'm quicker to say who the artist on the radio is than he says it occasionally.

    so, what about you guys?

I don't play aything right now. I bought a guitar with every intention of learning, but I just didn't have the time, and unfortunately now I just have no interest. I have an urge to play drums, but that's only because of all the fantastic drummers I listen to.

I was always interested in music. So I started at a young agte with piano, then school orchestra with the cello. Finally I got into guitar because I thought it was the cool thing to do. I am best at guitar basically because it's the only instrument I've owned consistently. Guitars are pretty cheap comparitevly. I bought my first guitar for about $200. To get a cello would cost me about $800, and a piano is pretty similar in price. Currently I own 4 guitars ranging in price from $150 - $5,000 and an old upright piano.

I also just got a hold of about $500 worth of peruvian mahogany (exact same wood PRS uses) to build a few guitars out of. Should be fun. I actually got it from a guy that sold wood to PRS, this was all left over chunks.

I play drums. and i love it.
Its pretty expensive though. Last saturday, i bought a crash cymbal, a stand for it, and a double pedal, and it ended up costing me 400 euros.
And its pretty damn noisy. especially with the rock/heavy metal music taste. its alot of fun though.

    and girls like it ^_^
and we are also setting up a band with some friends.

I pretty much grew up around classical violin, and was introduced to it at an early age. I've been playing for 9 years now, but I actually quit last year.

As for piano, I liked it and took lessons with my sister but after 3 years I found out that really wasn't for me.

And guitar...I got interested in playing when I started listening to and experimenting with other genres of music.

I play traditional malay percussions. Kompang, angklung, gendang, bongo, but i don't play drums, because the drumset is like RM1500, and the kompang is like RM15.

    ---

    Anyways.....

I also have been playing guitar for 3 years, and I play in the mad l33t jazz band at my school (only band I can play guitar in  can't play in any real bands with my friends because they don't play any instruments or anything)

I'm not like one of those n00bs who buy a guitar, learn one song, and don't even know how to really play it. I know who to sightread music, play chords, I know how to work out how to play chords like "Gm9 (add 5)", etc. B)

The first guitar I ever got is an acoustic guitar when I was 8. I also now own an indigo electric guitar and a magenta electric guitar.

I'm starting to play the french horn too, so I can get out of chorus next year. (I cant play guitar in the regular school band for some reason.... ) Chorus is boring and too easy, plus there are no french horn players in my grade, so I'll be the best one even though I suck. Band rocks. B)

band=sucks, chorus=sucks, we have a general music class at my school. You watch movies on like beethoven, the teacher pwns, and it's a fun class.

Anyways, you'll be glad you started so early when your friends and guys start in their teens to impress girls, and you just own them.
