This is my base for the painting i'm gonna be doing over the next week or two, depends how many hours i wanna put into it. It'll probably be 10+ =|. Daunting yea but i hope it'll be worth it !.

Anyways i've never trie d apainting before so i wanna make my first attempt good, You can kinda see it's the edge of a big city, i quite like the view, high up, lots of perspective .

The plain area will either be a rocky wasteland or a dump. I'll write a short story for it .. probably be something like a poster.

Come see Metropolis. one Of the last flowing rivers left on Earth! Visit the natural forest (( yes 100% natural !! )) just on the city edge. See the rushing waters of [River Name] entering the city, visit now and get a free boat pass !

-Terms and conditions apply, Metropolis is not responsible for any illness' received swimming in these waters -

Yea anyways... I drew most of the main building, Took a while to get all the perspective lines, i couldn't find a view i liked. But having the main closeup in the corner worked well ! Lots of room to work with now.

I'll either do a firey or toxic sky, either way will have lots of glow everywhere, and big thick clouds because of all of the pollution.

=) I probabluy wrote too much, i'm watching the football haha XD

That looks like a good idea.

I'd go with the toxic sky, you don't see that too much. I'd also go with a lake instead of rocks or mountains or hills. I think you did a good job placing the horizon line, can't wait to see the results.

    Good luck Dale.

    Thanks, i'll need it!
I'm pretty good at taking it slow though... which is what most people don't do with drawings etc (( you learn to go slow when using biro pens all the time .. so when you use pencil it's easy as fook to do details! ))

Thanks And yea, it seems better, especially seeing as i have a dump/tip/landfill site on one side of the river =)

That's a pretty good plan. Don't decide on trivial things (at this point) like color of the sky and such, its bound to change as you paint. Go for a toxic dump XD
