Can someone please explain to me in simpleton terms what it is all about

From what i've seen in the previews, and what little i've heard about the book. It's about a religion professor that's asked to help investigate a cult homocide/suicide and through his investigation he finds out that there's a giant coverup in the catholic church to hide the truth about the bible.

Kinda like in Dogma where chris rock is the black apostle that they covered up in the bible...except without chris rock.

its a great book... but you should read Angels and Demons first, its like the introductory prequel to the da vinci code. i read em both before they got famous its basically about this discovery that the church was covering up all this stuff about Jesus and mary magdalene.. its actually really hard to explain.
w/e its a good book.

if you want to understand it, read the book.
if you don't like reading and want to understand it but to a lesser extent, watch the movie.
either way ur gonna learn something

its a complecated book to say the least, so it would be hard to sum up what happens...the book is very good and im sure the film will be aswell
