Yeah; err, no filters in this one.

Proper text? Plain white or black, Arial, Verdana, TnR etc (basic texts) on 70-80% height (set in character window in photoshop, unknown in others)
Basic text = Better Text.
It looks alright, just like quite alot of random brushing. Also, it doesnt have much depth. Try making more shadows and highlights on the edges, and giving the whole piece more structure overall.

sorry to say this, but this piece of art doens't say anything to me, just random brushing and no depth, just like rob said...

I can't say this is the most original concept, or piece of art. Perhaps you could add something that gives it more meaning, or something symbolic. As for the text, I would suggest getting rid of the stroke. If you like to keep it semi-transparent, burn the areas in the background so all of the text is legible.
For fonts, I will have to disagree with rob on this one. Fonts can have a great impact on a work of art to fit the mood, or theme, which unifies the piece. Of course basic, simple fonts work well when you want to draw all of the attention somewhere else.

Okay, here is what I have to say.
This is my first attempt brushing, and obviously, it didn't come out the way you like it. I realize that I should have stated that at the beginning, but why is everyone up in arms? It's like you show 2 people two things that look very similar, yet rip apart the second one.
