good lord. this is like asking "hey I've got a soldering gun and some wire, can someone explain how to build a computer?" search google for "free php forum" There's a couple free bulletin board systems around, but I don't know any off the top of my head.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be so negative. It's just that lately alot of people have been asking for things like this. "I have very little understanding of [whatever] can someone tell me how to do [something extremely complex and detailed]."

try http://www.phpbb.com/ install and setup instructions are usually provided. But if you get into trouble, you're pretty much on your own. running a forum requires understanding of php and mysql.

Hey I could make a tutorial... Installing phpBB is a difficult process if you have no knowledge of php and mySQL lol.

That'd be nice. but i got a PM from wigchert saying they don't want a full bulletin board system. just html code on how to make a simple one... (rolling your eyes? slamming your head against the keyboard? EXACTLY&#33 so it's unnecessary for this situation. although i'm sure many people would find it useful in the future.

A little note to everyone that's reading this and thinking about posting a similar "how do i do this" question.

If you ask a question like this, and someone says you can't do it (especially a senior member) it's because you can't do it. We aren't being assholes, we're not ignoring you, or being lazy. It can not be done. If you continue to argue it, or insult us...we will get pissed, and we will ignore you. There's simply some stuff that you can't do without knowing alot about web programming/designing. A forum, for example, is one of those things.

hi

Yes...I told Unit_Number_43 that I want just a simple forum and not a php forum but if I had the knowledge of making a php board/site I would do it immidiatly! So I guess that tutorial would be VERY nice if it comes . All I want on my site is when I click on the button "forum" I get (on the same site) a forum IF it is possible

I dont get that part of your post...
1. Nobody told me it was impossible and if so thay did it in a indirect way...
2. I respect all of the work done by the staff and i DON'T think they are lazy or something like that...
3. I don't keep argueing...
4. I do understand this part

but that is why people ask questions, just to get more knowledge of something...the people thet know now have learned it somewhere right???

I don't know if that part of your post had something to do with me, if so you misunderstood me very bad and thought the very worst of my post and pm...

@ Thattechplace If you would make a tutorial about PHP I would really apriciate it

It wasn't directly targetted towards you. there's been a rash of very general questions like this lately. I'm tackling a problem before it gets worse.

You answer was given in the 4th post. www.phpbb.com you shouldn't need a tutorial for it. there's instructions and help forums on the site. (i believe)

Took me two minutes to find this. At least try and look before giving up.
