iPod movies
as much as i disgust them and feel sorry for the buyers being seduced into easy navigation and music downloads, this is what convinced me into buying one
my best friend mike got one from my other best friend zach for about 60 bucks
its an iPod nano, its black and pretty decent (i like the LED LCD) but its still pretty hard to navigate for me...its like lagging while scrolling in a browser!
but, theres an operating system!
regularly, theres Apple OS, but u can download miniLinux OS as well!
when u boot up, u come to a black/blue background asking weather to sleep, disc check, start apple os, or start linux
when u start linux, u wait a few seconds and u come to a screen like when ur going into safe mode. when its done, ull come to more of a professional yet smaller resource verision of apple os
if u load avi or mpg or w/e videos u like into the Notes folder, u can access it into the ipod and play it as a video iPod!
cant hold much tho, its still a 2GB nano, and miniLinux takes up about a normal OS...700megs...but, what would u wanna do, save about 100-200 bucks or have a few videos to watch?
i may think of getting one of these..for the space and the LCD LED screen
hopefully i help and save some people's money with this topic
i dont know if someone posted this already, but im highly doubting they did.
currently i have an Audiovox 256mb for christmas and my dad got ripped for it cause if u go into the E:\, it reads 236 mb, doesnt sound like much, but thats about 20 songs extra i could have, average i get about 50 songs

Trevor

You won't get 20 extra songs with 20MB, unless they're encoded at about 16 kbps, and they would sound so horrible at that rate, you wouldn't even want to listen to them. 20MB is about four or five songs.
Oh, and you're screwed if your iPod breaks with Linux installed on it, because Apple won't replace it, even if it is under warranty. Save up your money and buy a Creative Zen Vision:M. Everyone wins that way.

^^My entry for SOTW #52.
