Default I was so pissed off today...

I went on my account on the computer (windows xp home edition) and it was like a super generic opening windows account! My wallpaper, widgets, shortcuts, and taskbar settings were all GONE!

So, i looked at all the other accounts on the computer, and they hadnt changed one bit! I just pulled the plug instead of regular shutdown cause i assumed it would save settings if it was regular shutdown, and when i turned it on again, it went back to normal.

    What the hell happened?

When you are 12, like I am, you dont have enough $ to buy yourself a mac or linux, so you have to live with what you have.

    Don't act like a jerk.

Well, you're half correct...Linux is free

But I also understand that it would be confusing to have Linux installed on a family computer (which I am assuming yours is).

as was already pointed out, linux was free. secondly, if you're 12 then you probably don't have the money to buy a computer period, so don't act like you're personally offended because your operating system was attacked.

you wanted an answer, and that's what you got. just because you don't understand the answer doesn't mean it wasn't one. The only answer that would have made you happy was one that could be summed up as "download this program, install it, never have to think about it ever again." The only problem being that such a program doesn't exist, because what you experienced was a glitch. As we all know, Glitches occur pretty regularly with Windows and Microsoft products in general. So therefore, the answer to your question... You had Windows installed.
