haha everyone needs to relax and give the man a break on his shadow.. He obviously wasnt trying to make a perfect shadow, his point was to make a glass ball and show everyone how to do it. lol

I remember seeing a tutorial like this in the PC photoshop mag or maybe it was the adobe one...cant remember but still really awesome effect although I dont understand half of what to do on this tut.
