the planets were made with around 20 different textures, brushing (tablet) and the trusty old clone stamp tool :P

Okay, here's some criticism for you.

It lacks alot of depth. I think that the "shadow" around the planets kinda ruins it a little. Showing the sharp edge of the shaded side is much better. The top planet has pretty good texture, but the glow seems a little weird at some places. Like it's weaker at some spots.
The lower planet's texture could need some work. Or at least remove the clouds on it, they look very flat and fake. And I don't understand what the noisy stuff on the shaded side of the bottom planet is supposed to be? City lights?
The space could need some color. Now it's just gray, which is a bit boring. Try to experiment with colors for the space part. I can also see a "frame" around the picture where you have less stars.

It's good that you have the patience to work on space pieces. It takes a hell of a time. But I wouldn't say this is finished. Keep on working on it, and it could be better!

    ...why not?

I gotta agree with all the other comments, it's a great piece, but there are some minor details that need to be edited/changed.

Keep up the great work man.

    think about it.
If the stars were over the planets, than the stars would be closer to us than the planets.
if the stars were closer than to us than the planets, the stars would be really f-ing big.
