    Default Need help centering

So I'm starting a new design like my current sig. I have a basic rectangular shape, well sort of. I want to cut out a part of at the bottom, but I can't center it properly. Is there a trick to it or what?

    Thanks.

Don't know if I understand what you're asking specifically, but to center a layer in general: select all (ctrl+A), select the move tool, and select 'align horizontal centers' or 'align vertical centers' (whichever applies) and it'll center it about the selection (which is why you had to select all first). If you wanted to center a layer to another layer, you'd ctrl+click that layer to load its selection instead of selecting the entire canvas. Hope this helps.

Thanks. That seems to be working out. Here's what I'm doing so maybe you guys can help me out a bit more.

Now, what I want to do is make cut outs on the top part using the rectangular and elliptical marquee too. How can I make them all symmetrical?

    Thanks.

Recently I've gotten into the habit of using the rulers... Pressy Ctrl R and that'll help a ton
