heh i remember that report, it'll never happen...if it does it will be a fair few years until its introduced, for example we are closer to having congestion charges in manchester than having these tracking devices yet the soonest they could be implemented is 2013 dont need to worry just yet

damn, if they let non-UK residents sign, i would. just because it's complete bullshit, hopefully enough people in high places will realize this, and stop it before there's any chance of it getting passed into law.

They are planning something kinda like this in Finland.
The pollution rates for each car(model) will be calculated/whatever and a tax will be made from that. That would encourage car manufacturers to make cars that use less fuel ==> less pollution from cars overall. Except Finland's not big enough to affect anything by itself ^^
