    Default web layout help

I just finished making my first web layout but I've run into a problem. When I try to add text it starts to separate the slices and it leaves gaps between some of them. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    XHTMLplz.

And PHP or one of the .NETs
Disks are always full. It is futile to try to get more disk space. Data expands to fill any void.

XHTML is unnecessary unless you are going to be using XML. And unless you have a large database of stuff to handle, like being a shoe seller and needing to enter hundreds of different shoes and colors and sizes, you don't need to use XML.

So, basically, stick to HTML. The average (or even advanced) webdesigner never uses or needs XHTML.

    NOTE:

It's good to know XHTML and stick closely to it, because XHTML has much more strict standards than HTML does. Always code according to standards.

yeah, xhtml it's how i always code.. css is second you only need this if you're actually going to be spending alot of time on web design.. as for your problem with gaps in the slices, this happens when either you add content which fits into a specific scale, and this being a table move's the table you created out of line it's basically like taking a picture and exploding it, you get it pixelated unless it's not digital or has a high dpi.. best way to sort this is either resize your table to leave a margin or create a new layer above your already sliced up image.. if you're using dreamweaver it's piss easier.. but it depends..

It could also be that when you slice up an image on photoshop it gives the image a size and puts it into a table and makes the table that size.. now when you resize or somehow misplace one of the images it creates a gap easily taken care of by deleting the part of the html which states the size of the image and would just go to default i think all attributes that can be done to an image in a table can pretty much be done to just the image so there wouldn't be a need for a table but it's always safer to have one, that's only if you're still having trouble.. if you're just repost and show us what you're working with/on too.. it would help
