    Default newbies and c+c

Just because you're a newbie doesn't mean you can't give comprehensive c+c. Don't look at art as some technical thing that only when you know how to use photoshop and produce awesome signatures that you can then give good c+c.

Tell people what you think not how to use photoshop.. this saying, "i'm a newbie so i'm not going to c+c" is bullshit, just say oh it looks a bit blurry.. don't need to be some massive long paragraph about how to use gaussain blur.

It's better to develop your critiquing skills and your artistic skills by realising art isn't a bunch of technical words that you have to learn through scrolling forums and clicking on a program, if it's blurry say, if it doesn't look right, say. Thoughts?

( I guess this is more of advice, so read it.. but then give me your thoughts too )

I agree with ya deadloader. You learn alot by commenting people's work and also you might be able to help. They're asking for your comments, whether you're great or not doesn't matter. We won't shun you for commenting just because you're new. Speak your mind, that's what we want. Just don't flame

also if a person is known to be good, or is getting nothing but good comments don't be afraid to tell them you don't like it, or how they could improve it.

    Yeah that annoys me.

Anything U43 posts, people willl bum and say they love, yes most of his work is great but there are flaws with it. I bet if he posted a picture of his toe people would nominate it for the worlds greateset piece of art. Same happens with Dale a bit to. Mainly all the staff XD

    hahaha nice

yeah, i agree with you deadloader. i think the newbies think the person would be like 'wtf do you know' and move on though, especially if the newbie isn't consistent with what everyone else is saying. sadly that happens sometimes.

I somewhat recall when I first joined here, I gave some one some C&C on a sig, and I was a complete newbie. I had no idea what I was talking about, and wasn't even sure at the time if I should be doing so, so I know how it feels. It turned out that giving it actually helped me at the same time.

    Thanks.

    /\forlfroforfl at lame infomercials

Yea you don't have to get all technical about the critique. Film critics don't know how to make movies, but they know what a good story is.
