Default FireArms: Source Menu Screen [WARNING - HUGE IMAGE]

This image is for the halflife2 mod im working on FireArms2. Its the menu screen, so that means that when you run the game, everyone will see this and go "so leet".

    c&c please

note: the title and menu buttons are fonts that are added ontop ingame.
note2: the soldier some of you might remember, i did a vector of him a long while ago for a tribute to the soldiers over in afghanistan/iraq. this is the same soldier, but a new vector.

Nice job man. The colors are sweet, but I'm a little iffy on the red, and the placement of the text. Other than that, the shadow looks ace, and transition from dark to light is very smooth. Nice job on this one.

yeah the shadow i could never get right, i guess i could fix it up.

the red text actually goes right next to the text FireArms: Source ingame. its only temporary until we make it out into a public release.

    thanks.

Oh, I guess that makes sense then. Nice job nonetheless, I could never get good at vector-ish pieces.

I really want to know i how you get the bg shades of color to just fade out like that. I see it on a lot of your work.

I remember this mod on the first halflife, it took up more of my time than CS did.

well the background is just a gradient, with a few layers of shapes i made with the pen tool, each one a bit darker and darker. those shapes would be the very feint cloud shapes near the top. I dont know if i can write a tutorial, its more just i spend alot of time trying to get these gradients right.

    thanks everyone.

man that shadow is dire dude, you need to make that more realistic man and it'll look awesome like without the outer glow thing man looks messy yo

but other than that it's okay but still needs alot of attention
