how do you terrain a map

Can someone write a tutorial on how do you terrain a map.. say like those in the fantasy books, where you get so much detail at a rather small scaled thing: like including the textures and the brushes recommended etc. thx!

a large dpi and large canvas would help that, but this just seems like a request .. i'm sure we'd make one without your prompt and with you only having 1 post it sorts of begs the question whether we help you out having not benefitted the community, despite having a new tutorial or not helping you at this time and not succumb to another whore asking for free stuff, www.good-tutorials.com
