Sliding,blurr,thing

ok heres my prob. i was looking around at some pples sigs and saw this blurr effect i wanted to know how to do.
the effect makes the image look like its streaking accross the screen but the image is its self is not blurred. like...it has trailing motion blurr behind the image. i can't seem to find the pic i saw and i bin looking for 30 mins now. i've tried many things and motion blurr doesn't work nor does reg blurr work if i find the pic i will give a link to it but i haven't seen any tuts on it either if you think you can help me please do this small and annoying trick is driving me crazy looking for it lol. thanks in advance.

Eh.. I'm not in Photoshop right now, but I think it's the motion blur with one of the blending options in use.. I don't remember exactly which one though.. Hope this gives you an idea..
