try not to use brushes alone for background unless you actually know what your doing... left side looks decent but you really need to work on everything to the right of the render. Doesn't work very well at all, try something simpler and add in some greens and oranges a few whites as well, your render stands out too much because of the monotone quality of the backgrounding.

It's very messy... that's basically how brushes will make a sig look. The render should at least go with the background a little bit, because right now it's not at all.

agreed^ with both comments. I dont remember the last time I used a brush. At all. One way I've used to make my BGs is to:
1. pick the render you wanna use.
2. Paste it into your sig area, resize to your liking, and place where you want it.
3. Make a new layer, underneath the render. Paste your render in again, but dont necessarily resize it. Just move it around until it looks good.
4. Repeat step 3, but place it differently.
5. begin blurring/sharpening different areas of the BG to give depth. Also, careful(note the word 'careful' lol) use of filters on the BG renders can help too.
I may have to make a tut and post it. Be looking for it in a day or 2.
