First c4d model & material!
Hey guys!
Just wanted to show you my first tries at modelling and making materials in c4d!
The glass was easy but then... i added water... The water did something wrong, i had read about how to do good water and experimented a little bit of my own and well... it didnt turn out so good! .
Well heres the renders...

Sry for the big files...

The water doesn't look right, but the glass looks quite good. Maybe experiment with the lighting to get it to reflect more, but i can't really give any help on how to do anything in 3d programmes. :/
-
That last one is something straight out of an ad in a magazine, very cool. I know nothing about 3D modeling, so I can't give ya much advice.

ok :/.
ill try to change the lightning a bit.
-
for a first thats really good. i think my first would probbaly look like the molten rather then the glass itself.
well done

thanks .
anyone with 3d knowledge that can comment on the water?
what have i done wrong?
-
I'm not sure. But take a picture of some water in a glass, and just keep changing settings and using the image for reference
-
i kno wut went wrong with the water... came across the same prob.. all u got to do is scale it down a lil bit.. small enuf that it doesnt touch the inner sides of the glass.. but big enuf for no one to notice... u'll figure it out..
as for the materials... well water is more refractive than glass... (correct me if im wrong, im jus speakin out of my arse) and the glass material i have jus the thing for u... i jus found these like 2 days ago... http://planetpixelemporium.com/tutorials.php
look for the photorealistic glass tut.... and while ur at it... learn the otehr tuts too.... the real world lighting is wut im learnin atm... read it and the skin material tut is priceless and also the global illumination...
and also i think ur doin gud with the lighting... google search with caustics... thats wut u need for liquid and glass pics... it wud do wonders... im jus excited there are other ppl interested in c4d (its a gud choice for a 3d program, belive u me!)

"im jus excited there are other ppl interested in c4d" Sorry, I just had to laugh a little at that. See: Rob, Me occasionally and badly, no doubt plenty of others. :/
Disks are always full. It is futile to try to get more disk space. Data expands to fill any void.
