Music program.
Hello does anyone know a good program to try to mix your own music in? i mean like taking a reagular song like roxette and then turn it inot a techno like DHT did.
-
Adobe Audition is wut i use! it was prevously called CoolEdit
its not freeware.. means u'll have to buy it or *ahem* Download it from P2P or Torrents...

Use Cubase SX3 or Cubase 4, it's powerful and easy to learn. It's one of the standards among the pro's. But if you want to remix something, you would need to get an acapella track for the vocals. Or else it would just be the original song with some techno drums. :P
If you need help, just ask. I've been writing and mixing my own music for years.

Damn rabies. you do that photography an occasional art peice, possible work, school and you still have time to have with your friends?!
I don't know anything about music mixing, but i do know guitar pretty well. I don't know if that'd help you for anything.
My DevART

Hehe, well most of my friends are from the same school as I so we meet everyday. But tomorrow is the last day of school and I will be working for a newspaper for 2 weeks. Then I won't be able to see my friends so often, except for one of them who also works there. I was there today and shot with a Canon EOS 1D. Powahh!
We are way OT now. ;P
Other good programs are:
Logic (mac)
Pro Tools (does not suppoert VSTi, if you don't have some type of "bridge", I'm not sure)
Reason (does not support VSTi nor audio, but uses it's own synths)
Sonar

MKI, II, or III?
Still sexeh. What do you do at the newspaper place?
-
MKI, the real photographers for the newspaper uses MKII and soon MKIII.
I've been selected as photographer for a group of youths who will write our own 28 pages long supplement which will be read by 80,000 readers in two weeks. The only thing we don't do ourselves is the final editing. I don't get paid, but I do get some good contacts. Especially when the other two photographers aren't so good.
This is still extremely OT!

ProTools is more for recording, in my view.
And you can get VST-Can'tRememberDigidesignFormatButAhGotItRTAS wrappers.
I use Zynwave Podium, which has the advantage of being cheap. And stable, too.
And cool interface.
If you want to try it, there's a demo on the zynewave website, and if I like you I'll send you an install for the full version. As long as you swear not to redistribute :F
Cubase is another one, but (Again, my personal opinion) it has a horrible UI. Sorry, but I just hate it :|
Ableton Live, Nuendo, Logic, Garageband (Free with macs, good if you're lazy and don't like the big boys), Sonar, Ardour, REAPER, and all the other DAW/Sequencers/whatever out there are also open for use.
ProTools or Cubase are probably the best if you're planning on sending any files to a studio, both are pretty much the industry standard if memory serves.
Reason always seemed more of a virtual rack to me, wrapper not really a program... If you just want a synthesizer, Reason's good, as is Absynth..
Disks are always full. It is futile to try to get more disk space. Data expands to fill any void.
