Thinking

(Free Verse)

I’m sitting here thinking,
Thinking of what could have been.
If my life never fell apart,
That sad and dreary day.


You left me sitting there
Not knowing what to think,
Not aware of what happens
On the path down the road.


Because today is today,
Yesterday is yesterday
But that day can never again
Feel the same.


You leave me sitting here,
Not knowing what I thought
Not knowing what happened
That day a long time ago.

The Door

(Free Verse)

You opened a door for me,
Showed me something I’ve never seen.
I wanted to tell you thanks,
But I can never say it to you.


Every time I see you,
I know what I want to say.
But every time I finally get the courage,
You just walk away.


Someday I just wish,
That maybe you will see.
How much I appreciate
You being here for me.
