Default [Article] Climate Change, as bad as they say?

Ok so on this other site I have recently been added to the crew as liaison, that means i get to do interviews and the monthly newsletter but also things like articles about various things.

Until now i've only done 2 articles but im thinking about making it a monthly thing.

Here is the first, i will post the second in another thread.

Everything stated in this article is based on things i have read, heard and seen on TV and on the internet. Some things may nto be true in a certain way and a lot of you will probably think different about things.

Feel free to discuss this article in this topic but please stay polite, don't swear. Thank you.

Climate Change, as bad as they say?

The world is changing, more frequent and more powerful storms, hurricanes, global warming. All effects of climate changes. A lot of people say we humans are the cause of that, but is that really true? Can we really have such impact on the environment that the whole earths climate changes?

It is known that gasses like CO2 cause global warming, because the warmth of the sun which is reflected from the earths surface is held within the atmosphere by this gas (Model).
The level of CO2 changes, every thousand years or so there is a dramatic change, every year there are small changes because the plants only bloom in the summer and the same for nights.

The air you are breathing while you are reading this contains roughly 0,037% of CO2, a raise of 0,003% would cause the temperature on earth to rise with approximately 1 to 3 degrees centigrade. This is worldwide, so in some area's it will rise more than in other area's. This doesn't sound like a lot, but don't be fooled, it is a lot. However, the human race would be superior if they could dramatically change this level of CO2. Ok, there are billions of humans on this earth and yes, they are producing a lot of CO2, but is it enough to raise the CO2 level to a dangerous point?

According to some scientists it would be arrogant to think, humans can change the environment. They say, most of the global warming is caused by higher volcanic and solar activities. High quantities of CO2 are released into the earths atmosphere by giant volcano eruptions and a increase of solar activity in the last 20 years or so have led to a raise in the earths temperature.

The extreme weather can be the cause of these natural changes.

    The effects of Climate Changes.

Of course the well known Global warming. Worldwide the temperature is said to rise about 3 degrees over the next 100 years. The effect of this is that the permafrost on the north and south pole will melt along with the glacier. This will cause the sea level to rise 1 or 2 meters. This will cause floods (or so they say) in the countries that are below sea level and countries that are not prepared for this.

The Netherlands (where i live) is said to disappear for over 50% in water after the flood has occurred. However what they don't say is that The Netherlands is already taking precautionary measures against the flooding of the country. These studies only look at the rise of the water, not the progress and development of precaution in those countries.

Another big effect the melting of the ice will have is on the Atlantic Gulfstream this stream exists because of the heavier salt water to drop down. This way warm water from the equator streams up and down towards the poles, where it cools down and streams backtowards the equator. This causes a natural balance for the earths temperature.

When the poles melt, a lot of fresh water will mix with the salt water and the stream will stop streaming, this will cause the earth to not warm down at the poles and not to cool down at the equator. In term this will cause an Ice Age.

Global warming may be caused by humans, but the possibility that volcanoes and the sun are a big factor in this as well causes me to think that the big problem isn't our behaviour but the scientists that say we are ruining the world. They may say this to people who are chopping down rain forests, but not about the CO2 levels, because this hasn't even been proven yet.

More information on Climate changes can be found on Wikipedia.
