    Default 7/7/07 - Live Earth

Has anyone else been watching this? I've been here in front of my TV all day watching the performances. This is probably one
the of biggest concerts in history and for one of the most important issues of modern day (global warming and the protection
& preservation of the environment). It's happening all over the world in 9 different cities. If you're not already watching, then
find some time and watch it.

Yeah, I'm watching it right now. Good performances so far and hopefully it goes to a good cause. What's a bit ironic is the amount of garbage left by the fans at the various concert venues. Makes me wonder if people actually care about the environment, or are just there for the party.

    Thanks.
    Prick.

    Yeah, I'm watching it too.
Personally I don't have a side on the issue though. It's hard to tell if global warming is a real issue or if it's another part of Earth's cycle. There isn't enough evidence for me to say yes or no.
As for the concerts, Al Gore avoided a lot of the questions asking about the irony of garbage left behind and the impact that the concerts have on the environment. He also tried to avoid the question of if he was going to run as president and if he had a chance would he.

My favorite performances throughout the whole event were Snow Patrol, James Blunt, Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Dave Mattews.
If you guys started watching the second half of it, then you probably missed most of the good stuff (IMO). But the artists are just
there to get our attention. The main purpose was to educate us about the climate crisis though those short films that they showed
before the ads. I hope this helped educate some people.

Well i personally don't believe it's happening. I know a lot a bout global warming because they had scientists come in an talk to us about it, and we watched movies and stuff. After all of that i still don't think it's happening. I think everythign is cyclical just like the seasons, and currently we are in the hot time.

There is proof that there has been global warming before, along with a few ice ages. It's a cycle, that is what it sounds like to me.

Yeah. Say the level of carbon dioxide in the air is related to temperature (Probably true, but the direction of relation is debateable) - How much frikken carbon dioxide are they putting into the air for these concerts? xDD
