Don't like the brushing near his lips.. Looks like dark spit flying out..

I think it looks great, and the lips thing is fine imo. Also, nice work not just copying the tut exactly, but trying your own thing. =)

the whole sig pretty cramped, except for the top left which is kind of a distraction for me

Yea, I was trying to add some stuff there, added a C4D, don't like making them too visible though.

Actually, that looks like scatter smudging, and the whole sig seems to be based around that mostly so I say keep it.
