"Back to School" Newspaper Ad

For my Layout and Copy class. Second semester Advertising at Sheridan College. Quick mock up, but it's the polished copy. Original size of 6"x8" @ 300dpi.



I know the body copy sucks - i didn't care too much to make up something inventive. I like the headline, though Stock image from DeviantArt.

I live in Burlington. just go to school there. Well, I live in "Aldershot" so i'm about 4 minutes away from Waterdown haha.

I'm not so keen on this one.

Seems very monotone and boring to me. Doesn't catch me eye or grab attention.

Not liking it. =/

Yeah i'll agree it's pretty flat and monotone. But it is a newspaper ad, and part of the requirement was black and white. I tried to use grey over black so it wouldn't be too dark and have too much contrast.
