    Default Help

    Hi
Photoshop has not worked properly for a few weeks. Whenever I try to save an image for the web (using the save for web command) I come up with an error message

"could not complete this operation beacuse an assertion has failed"

apart from not knowing what the message actually means, I canot fix it. I have looked up on the web for people with similar problems, and have tried all of their suggestions, which have not worked.

I have checked ram levels, reinstalled it twice, run defrag, anti virus, adaware and spybot, plus reset photoshop to default settings.

This makes me think the problem is outside photshop.

Any ideas? Im running Windows ME by the way on a P3 800mhz, with 512mb ram

    Thanks for your help

Maybe you should have tried to do a system restore when the problem occured at first. If that function in Photoshop is really important, then maybe you can consider formating your hard drive, if you cannot find the source of the problem. I have never heard of this problem before, so I don't think I can help you much. If you run a legal version of Photoshop, then try calling the support.
Also, do you get this error message only when saving for the web?
