    Default My first C4D render...

    Hey youze guyz!!!

Been getting to grips with C4D lately, bought a nice users manual for it an all, and I gotta say its one of the best progs I've used in a long time. Ive been playing around with it a lot lately, and I started my first proper pic (nothing too complicated) which was to make a chess board.

This is what I came up with (deviantart link soz)

I think its good for my first go, I cant wait till I start my next project, something more complex this time, and with the use of graph paper sketches to keep me on track and to know what I'm dong.

TELL ME WHAT U THINK GUYS!!

    I feel bad for you.

Should have gotten started on a better program, like 3DSMax or Maya.

None the less, still looks pretty good. Keep it up.

Very good start! Keep it up, I'd love to see some more complex renders.

    Thanks for the comments

Is Maya or 3DSM really better? When I was choosing between which prog to use I chose C4D cuz thats what everyone will be using when I start university, and everyone else I know that does 3d work uses C4D aswell...I guess its about how powerfull they are but the user interface in C4D is really well done imo! Also I cant get into maya on vista, gave up trying to crack it

    actually i strongly disagree...

first of all 3d modeling is all the same regardless of wshich software... the best 3d modelin software is not maya or 3dmax.. but its a software called SILO...

c4d has all the features that 3d max has.. well maya's better than c4d.. but its not the best thing to start out with... c4d is easy for noobs to understand.. which then makes them understand the 3d progs enviroment better...

also c4d is very very very compatible with photoshop... read my tut on Multipass rendering.. c4d knows the exact blendin optioons it must hav wen it renders layer by layer into a photoshop file...

i think u shud learn everything abt 3d as u can in c4d.. then switch to maya..

i kno it seems like an offencive post.. but seriosuly its not...

    now abt ur render...

its really welldone for a first render..

also gud modelin and u seem to understand texturin quite well..

it'd be cool to see this model in a scene someday... hmm.. maybe an interior scene..

You are very evil. And you're too evil to care.
Those who love you probably also fear you. A lot.
