first attempt at vector c&c

well I know It might look kinda plain but I like it that way I didn't want to overwhelm the whole concept behind what I was doing
The brushes with the stars and circles with pluses I downloaded fromdeviant art but the ones on the corner with the guns I made myself I actually sat there and outlined the gun and everything, I wasn't sure how to save brushes but now I knolol oh and the ones over the top of their heads is mine as well from scratch.
please remember it's my first vector attempt. It's also supposed to be for a myspace wallpaper for my cousin.

Hmm give it a border, the guy's head could use some more detail. other than that it looks decent, not much going on color on the bg could be improven

yea I know, i just figured i could get away with it since im tired, but what do you mean add more detail to his head? and the background color I like I just dunno what else to add it's not finished, I usually go back and re play with it til I get something better but thanks.

here's version 2
i kinda like the way his hair is just because it's a simple vector shape design, i didn't really want to add detail.
I did add something kinda like a board and some other shapes so it didn't look so plain...
i like the way the colors overlap each other very well...

It is a great first go at vectors, and I really like it, but a few things don't seem right to me.
I like the mirror image effect with the name rotated instead of mirrored, but all the black misc images don't suit it too well.
Maybe try doing something in the background that can tie both halves together, similar to if you were to drop a lot of ink on a page, fold it in half so you get a mirrored image then with the face on top. Then maybe so it doesn't look totally wack, add some thing to match the background over parts of the face, like the neck.
Just try to get the whole piece to flow together. And keep going, never give up.

wow
yea I figured i'd keep working on it, I dunno it just seems nice becuase of the colors, and yes I was trying to add something over the actual face image but couldn't find anything suitable, I even tried the splatter and splashes and I didn't like the out come. I dunno what you mean by fold it but I'm pretty sure I'll figure it out
thanks

Awesome first vector!
Also having detail on a vector does not necessarily make it a good vector sometimes the most basic vector of a person can look much more striking than a complicated one with detailed eyelashes, skin tones.
I love the the background you have made for it and the border on the second version fits really well.
My only dislike to be honest is the colour of the background on the second version. Its too pastel for my liking, it doesnt suit the portrait IMO.
