Fabian
A friend of mine. I'm not sure about the cigarette, but I wanted something that gives a bit more character. It tells more about who he is. That, his piercing and the face he makes hit spot on IMO. He's a kind person, but he can have one hell of an attitude when he wants to.
He's sitting on the floor and on his side is a huge window which gave very nice lighting.

I don't like this one too much. The lighting is good, but I don't see any kind of story in the portrait.

Alright! I agree, I just wanted a good picture of my friend. Thanks for the comment. I'm thinking of taking another photo of him, but without him looking so happy. You know, like a "shut the fock up" look on his face. ;P
-
Maybe try rotating him a bit, so it's not such a straight on shot. It's too friendly when he's staring right at you. If he has some attitude, then show it. And light up the smoke.
-
I'll think about it! We're not allowed to smoke indoors though, so I can't be in the same place if I light it.
-
Any more comments on this horrible photograph? :P

Common martin, you know you could accidentally take a picture of your feet and it'd be gold. I do like this one, but it just doesn't hit home like some of your others.
Say, did you just stand over him and take the photo, or were you higher up and zoomed in?
-
I told him to sit down on the floor and I stood over him and zoomed in to lose the wide angle and get a bit shorter DOF. It took like 12 seconds, so we didn't spend much time. :P

I feel like the lighting is too strong on the left side of his face, removing detail from his features. Also I think that the cigarette drags away from his character - He looks like a poser with that and his lip rig, that grin on his face.
Had the cigarette been lit, then I think it would be a different story. Quite harsh critique from me there for once, but the image has its positives too - the
composition and perspective are very well done.

I agree with Rob.
Also, it looks too...set-up, not like your others. It's a great picture, I'd just like to see the same kind of shot, but with him not so...ready for it. Not totally spur of the moment, but not so...definite. Know what I mean?
Much love Martin.
