    Default Save your work often...

I was stuck in pub lab for an hour, so I started playing around with banners for our newspaper. I liked where this one was going, and just when I found a sweet arctic circle diagram to put on it, I got this (I hadn't saved since it was a blank canvas):

You have no idea how many rounds of distortion it took to make a shadow I could be happy with (on the dashed line to the x). Print Screen is my new best friend! I had to do a little surgery, but I was able to turn it back into this:

I'm no stranger to PS crashing (though the CS we have on the newspaper comps seems extra prone), but it's usually quick and relatively painless. Seeing your work sitting on the screen and not being able to save it adds a whole new level of swearing.

Other way around, actually. He joined on the first, you joined on the 9th.

The banner looks pretty cool. Makes me want to go treasure hunting. Or just finish reading The Alchemist.

The overall effect of this is very good indeed. The colours are well chosen (why is Firefox telling me COLOUR is a spelling error - damned US dictionary - bracketed rant over), but I would suggest one try to blend them in a bit (and i dont mean blur or layer effect) to the design itself, try and make it appear as though it is printed onto the paper.

You didn't coin it as an online name first i'm sure. So get back on topic.

Not to be a dick, but I like how you think that matters. It's a name. Big deal.
