Protraits o' Calvin

Went to Excelsior with my friend Calvin today and took some portraits of him. He was cool about it. These are my first portraits so I'd love to hear what you think.

Edit:The below is my original post. I did some post work on two of these and i got really cool outcomes because martin showed me an awesome new technique and gave me a lot of help. So here are the new refined versions.

Awesome shots my friend! Good job. My favourite is the last one. Nice sharpness in all of them! The first and last could need a little more post processing though. A little more contrast and his eyes in the first one looks a little fake. I can hook you up on msn and show you an awezum way to edit these. A multiply technique... dundundun! Advanced... :O

They all look fantastic...I must admit I like the profile shot rather than direct.The eyes look amazing.

Well Long as martin doesn't mind me saying and i don't think he does. It's kind of complicated but you do Shadow/highlights on multiply then you do some curves, and then sharpen the eyes using highpass. Thats pretty much the overview of it. The SHadow/highlights thing is key though. It's kind of hard to explain, plus i don't want to go to into detail incase itwas like martin's secret or something. I hope that helps. He should prolly make a tut. It really would be helpful.
