this is my backround, i made it from a random tut i found on google, i know its bad. but im posting it so you can see where i am in perspective to my posts, to see how much i know i guess...

Actually if this is one of the first things you've done it's not that bad looking

First this is a wrong section buddy, second it is way to filtred i would recomand you to read some tut's on a good bg site but its not bad for a first visit to photoshop, always play.

Experimentation is everything in photoshop. Use tutorial to get your grasp on photoshop and to get your feet wet, also use them to pick up certain techniques, but there is nothing like experimenting
Keep working with photoshop. I recommend starting to learn sigs. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
