Text I would say, and blending maybe. In the god of war sig, can barely tell its kratos; so may want to get a different render to have more of a focal point. Thats basicly where my knowledge ends though.

I think you should try working with smaller signature sizes. They tend to make it easier to fill them up and relieves you of a lot of the hassle of making BIG backgrounds, at least until you get better.
I usually use sig sizes from 300x95 through 370x140. Some people like to go higher than 140, a lot higher, however I'm a fan of the sleek, thin look on sigs so I usually stay around there.
Nice job on the borders! Usually people do 2px sandwich borders, or techno borders or something way out of style. The Solid black borders are hott and go with like every sig. Nice job on that!
Your background are okay however they tend to look pretty filtered. I'm thinking it's mainly because you are using too much diffusion filter. I usually create my backgrounds by smudging or blurring my render and then lower the opacity a BIT. I think you should follow some tutorials to see how they create theirs. Your BG style isn't bad however it's hard to tell what's going on with so much of that filter.
Your blending is good, I like it. It blends with the sig and make me feel like the character was really part of the sig and not slapped on. nice job.
Your coloring is okay, however in sigs like the top one there is too many colors. I usually try to stay with two however some people like to have a few more or less. Whatever works just stay away from being monotone (one color) or having too many, it'll get chaotic with too many.
text :-\ haha don't worry about it people always have a hard time with text. it takes awhile to learn it. I'm just gonna give you my usual routine on text. Follow these guidelines and you will quickly learn text.
1. use default fonts: use fonts like arial, veranda, tahoma and others. Or if you feel the need to download some, download regular looking fonts. They blend with sigs better 99% of the time than any other font you can download (aside from the halo font on something like..A halo sig) .
2. keep it to a minimum: no sentences, no phrases. Try to minimize it to a few words. It helps keep it small and blend with the sig.
3. Keep it small: Keep your fonts anywhere from 6px - 14px depending on the font. Keeping it small will help make it blend to your sig better.
4. Use colors that blend: easy they blend.
5. No blending options: this is possible one of the most important. Blending options don't let things blend, if you don't use them on text your life will be a lot easier.
I highly recommend you read Darkmethod's guide to text here:
DarkMethod's guide
Also check out some tutorials, they will help you pick up useful techniques.
I highly recommend my own (of course :P) and daemon's. There are many other good ones out there though so take a look.
