You don't have to go around being a jackass just because you got caught with an advertisement in your signature. Quit being such a tool.

You need slapped just for the fact that you called someone a tool, let alone me.
Anyways, im just trying to help Metal out with his community. Ive been here long time and havent really done anything to help, so im gonna try to help in everyway I can

And how in the hell is this helping? Are you guys afraid of people jumping ship because they saw a better site in someone's signature. I can see why they discourage advertising in posts as it would contribute to a lot of spam posts, but to ban it from signatures is just stupid and pointless.

I disagree with Death, why should people be allowed to come to a gfx site, and waste everyone's time by their attempts to try and make people quit CX and join their turd of a forum

First of all theres no need to be a dick and insult another member for trying to point the rules to the new jacks, who by the way have been doing alot of advertising lately.
Also the reason we ban all forms of advertising is because it's easier that way. Theres no confussion about the rules or whats considered advertising or not.

I don't think Death was saying that advertising should be allowed, as in people would make topics about their forums etc. He was referring to signatures. If its in a signature, its not exactly "wasting everyone's time" because it isn't calling attention to itself, its just like every other signature.

Thats true, it does eliminate confusion about what constitutes advertising. Though you have to think of the reasoning for banning advertising. Is it to avoid spam or to keep people from leaving CX and joining other forums? Hopefully the former because the latter is kinda dumb. If it is to avoid spam, then mentioning a url in a signature shouldn't be a problem because it isn't really in people's faces forcing them to look at it, as opposed to if someone just made a post or a topic advertising his/her forums. I do support not allowing people to advertise by posting whether it be in replies or new threads. However, if spam is the main concern, I don't think advertising in signatures should be banned because its taking too much unnecessary effort (it will continue).

There needs to be a forum topic just for advertising.
