When I said simple, I meant it. Let me know what you think please. (R+C)
EDIT:

is that a real mp3 playa or did you totally make it up?
-it has no play etc buttons
-it looks very flat
otherwise, its very good

I made it up. Yeah, it does look flat, but I couldn't figure out how to make like, a curved line across the middle you know. Kind of like yours but a straight curve. I used the pen tool but it fills it in with the foreground color. I'll figure it out sometime. And it's supposed to have the buttons on the side, instead of on the front. So I think I'll make some headphones coming out of the side or something to give it a little bit of detail. I modeled the buttons from my friend Phil's mp3 player. It's like, the size of a zippo and the buttons are flat on the side, all the front has is a screen. So yeah. Thanks for the comment!

plastic wraps? You really mean simple. All that appeared im\n my head when seeimg dat was "..." ...

nice shape...but i think you need to work on making it look more 3dimensional. make the blue screen more appealing (more hue and better font)
btw a static lullaby is a good band...just thought i'de say that

not bad mate. I dont mind the flatish look, some skins use that to great effect as a nice clean style. Sometimes the glass and plastic effects can be a bit much.
But I agree that the buttons need to have some sorta integration feature, like a soft bevel or thin border. For example you could put a thin dark grey border 1px wide around the buttons. When backlight is on you could change the border colour, liek how the iPod works, etc.
Have a think about all the controls that go on a media player. Most buttons required include: shuffle, volume, stop, start/pause, fast forward, fast rewind, next, previous, song list.

I love the battery meter btw, very nice.
