    get rid of the scanlines and repost. I can barely tell whats going on because of the scanlines

    ... can anybody tell me what that little symbol is and what it says in the bottom right of the National Geographic photo?

    I think that you went about it all the wrong way. If you wanted the sky to be on the stolen image (the national geographic one) then you should have cut out the sky from both images and just put the sky from the first into the second. The scanlines look horrible. I hate scanlines as it is, but if you feel like you must use them, at least use them in a more fitting context (such as a tech styled image - this has a nature theme). The text doesn't fit at all either. You should really simplify your text, especially with this sort of thing. I'm not feeling this one at all.
