What were the adjustments done, specifics are necessary if you're saying that there was post editing done.
The photo:
This isn't really photography, sorry, it's a snapshot. You saw your cat in a cute position(I love cats as well ) but yeah, u got a snapshot of it. There is so much going on in the background, like the tree, the window, and the curtains, and all of that is in focus, so there's so much to distract the viewers eyes from.
Also the foreground has all sorts of different things in it, is that a box? But anyways, if you're going for a modelling, the model setting must be perfect, or else it just doesn't work as well.
When there is so much going on, the person can't enjoy the photo, just because they're wondering if they have the same blinds as you do.
With model photography, the focus has to be on the model itself, and away from the surroundings, it's a cute picture, but there is endless room to develop in.
